Revise cheaply (or for nothing)
You don’t necessarily need to buy an expensive book and DVD package just to learn how to drive. Many learners don’t realise they can read the entire Highway Code or take a practice theory test for free on the Government website or through Theory Test Pro, accessible via our website. Even if you would rather learn from an actual book, it’s easy to find cheap second-hand copies of what you need online or from friends.
Take longer lessons
Most people prefer their driving lessons to last for 2 hours at a time, so they get the most from the session. Try to avoid booking 1-hour sessions so you’ll get better value for money with 1.5-hour or 2-hour training.
Here at Mike’s Way, we generally recommend four to six hours of tuition (two to three sessions lasting two hours) a week and can offer lessons as long as four hours if this is what you would prefer. Such longer lessons with us do, of course, include a break.
Get discounted lessons whenever possible
Driving schools are usually happy to give you a discount when you book lessons in blocks, rather than one lesson at a time.
